The Hermitage Museum & Gardens has a full and captivating history that entwines with Norfolk’s past and the annals of our arts community. The Sloanes, visionaries of the Hermitage, were very active in bringing the arts to Norfolk. They were great cultural supporters and left an amazing gem, the Hermitage, for the community. In addition, an endowment was established to care for the collection, house, grounds, and out buildings, however it only covers a portion of the annual budget. As a private non-profit organization, receiving no regular governmental funding, your assistance is essential. Memberships and donations help keep our doors, and grounds, open to the public. Membership is a wonderful way to support the Hermitage! Benefits to membership include: free admission to the Museum for house tours and special exhibitions, discounts in the gift shop, the opportunity to volunteer in various areas, The Hermitage Press newsletter, vinyl decal, discounts for special tours and programs, and more. At higher levels you will also receive discounts on art classes, summer camp, grounds rental privileges, reciprocal membership programs, and more.
