Frequently Asked Questions What time is drop off and pick up? The camp day begins at 9:00 a.m. The Camp Coordinator or the Camp Instructor will be in the camp classroom of the Visual Arts School each morning to greet parents/guardians and campers. Parking is available in the parking lot adjacent to the Visual Arts School on the Hermitage property. Campers must be escorted inside by a parent/guardian/responsible adult for sign-in. The Camp Coordinator or Camp Instructor will be available beginning at 8:45 a.m. Drop off is not available before this time. At pick-up, each individual picking up a camper will be required to have a picture ID. Please be prepared to show it to the afternoon staff as requested. This is an important precaution since the parent or guardian picking up each camper may vary. Pick-up occurs promptly at 4:00 p.m.; no aftercare is available. Will my child need to bring lunch? Campers are required to bring their own lunches and beverages. No lunch or refrigeration is provided by the Hermitage. Campers are advised to bring a water bottle and two snacks; one for the morning and afternoon. What should my child wear to camp? Campers should dress comfortably and prepared for making a mess. No open-toed shoes are allowed. Campers will play with plenty of messy things during camp activities, from paint to mud. Bring an extra set of clothes that can be left at camp through the week. Sunscreen should be applied before arriving to camp. Should my child bring any additional items to camp? Campers will participate in many activities keeping them busy throughout the camp day. Campers should refrain from bringing other toys or books. No electronic devices are permitted. Parents/Guardians will be notified if any special items are needed for the following day (for example; swimsuits on sprinkler days). We also ask that campers refrain from bringing money to camp. Where can I receive any additional information or details about camp? Contact Kate Gebler, Public Programs Manager, with any questions at (757) 423-2052 ext. 207 or kg@thfm.org.
